Sara Barone is a two-time Emmy-nominated composer for film, television, and video games whose work is rooted in sonic discovery. Viewing every score as an opportunity to create an original musical language, she combines unconventional instrumental techniques, manipulated acoustics, and electronics into immersive sound worlds. Her music blurs the boundary between composition and performance, challenging convention while deepening emotional impact.
Sara is known for scoring Netflix’s psychological thriller limited series The Beast in Me which earned a 2026 Primetime Emmy nomination, as well as the BBC’s landmark series Planet Earth III, narrated by David Attenborough, earning a 2024 Primetime Emmy nomination and Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score for a Documentary Series. Other recent credits include ABC’s crime drama series RJ Decker, drama feature film To Kill A Wolf, which won Best Composition in a Feature Film in the 2025 Music and Sound Awards, the virtual reality game Alien: Rogue Incursion developed by Survios, Netflix’s action-thriller Exterritorial, and Amazon’s Silver and the Book of Dreams.
Sara has also contributed additional music to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Sonic the Hedgehog, Scoob!, Terminator: Dark Fate, the CBS series Bull, the Netflix series, Hit & Run, Love Death & Robots Season 2 (The Drowned Giant), among others.
Sara received an undergraduate degree in music at Columbia University and a master’s degree in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
